"How do I unlock my view so I can see past 7 Generations?"
We get this question all the time, so it's time to take a crack at it in the e-newsletter.
In fact, we figure there are probably many long time users that just haven't realized that
you can unlock your Starfield beyond the default 7 generations! Of course, we want you to know
the full capabilities of this terrific program, so listen up!
First, a brief explanation. Many OneGreatFamily users sign-up for a
guest account. This allows them to sample the service before committing to a subscription.
As a guest your trial subscription is locked to only show 7 generations. After all, we can't give
away the farm, right?
Once you become a subscriber you're entitled to access everything, including the ability
to view up to 512 generations. As a subscriber you must unlock your view
because Genealogy BrowserTM defaults to 7 generations. You probably didn't know that
you could do this so many of you still haven't done so. Let us fix that right now.
Here's what to do:
1. Log onto OneGreatFamily and open the GeneologyBrowser.
2. On the menu, choose "File" and then "User Preferences". This will bring up your User Information window.
Select the "Settings" tab.
3. The first field under the Settings tab is the "Starfield". Set the "Limit Button" and "Max Generations" as
high as you'd like by typing in the fields provided. You can set the view for a maximum of 512
generations. Note: The more generations you view, the longer it will take to display the StarField.
